The route

A complete look at your climb.

Umbwe rises quickly through a dramatic forested ridge before joining the southern circuit at Barranco. Its steep early altitude gain gives the body less time to adjust, so it is best for fit, experienced and already acclimatised climbers.

Edward’s adviceEdward recommends Lemosho, Machame or Shira for most guests; choose Umbwe only when its difficulty suits your experience.
